Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
Canteen
All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
Our canteen is run by parent volunteers and is currently open on Thursdays each week for recess and lunch orders.
It is often also open for recess on Fridays.
Our canteen is run by volunteer parent helpers, extra volunteers are always welcome please call the school office 02 9522 7277.

FLEXISCHOOLS APP
During 2020 the P & C Association proudly launched the Flexischools App which allows parents to order lunches and purchase items from the P & C run Uniform Shop using an app.
Uniforms
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
is appropriate for the full range of school activities
is suitable for all body shapes.

Purchasing the school uniform
Some of the uniform components are available through retailers, while other components are available for purchase from the P & C Association Uniform Shop. The parents and citizens association runs a uniform shop with these items available to buy:
- Girls winter tunic
- Girls summer skort
- Sports uniform
- Hats
- Library bag
- School bag.
To buy a uniform for your child, please download the Flexischools App or complete the order form and return with payment to the school office.
The preferred method of payment to the P & C for Uniform items and canteen orders is by using the Flexischools App. Alternately, cheques should be made payable to the Sylvania P&C Association.

Going green
School environmental management plans work across the key learning areas of the curriculum and the whole school community.
We start with local sustainability and over time develop student understanding of how their work contributes globally.
Students and staff manage, observe and monitor our school's resources, waste and physical surroundings, then take on activities to protect and improve our school and the local environment.
Your child will develop an understanding about:
- the relationship between human activities and natural systems
- sustainable management of the earth's resources
- the inter-related nature of processes in the natural environment.
We encourage you to support your child's 'going green' activities, and to help them to learn to care for the environment as part of their everyday lives.
Hiring our facilities
You may apply to use our school’s facilities for appropriate purposes provided your hiring of the facility doesn't interfere with our teaching and learning programs.
